Amulet Audio Software VST Adapter v1.02

Version 1.02 and breaking news (15th April '99)
* Fixed Cubase 3.553 crashes
* Works correctly on WinNT now
* 16-bit stereo mode now supported properly
* Installer no longer causes machines with bad video drivers to hang
Known issues:
- Doesn't work with Samplitude's Real Time CD Burner module. We're working on a fix.
- Crashes on song load with ACID 1.0D BETA version. SF are helping us to resolve this.
Please use the 1.0a version of ACID instead (the current non-Beta version) for the time
being.
- May be unstable with Sound Forge 4.5b. (4.0b through e, and 4.5, 4.5a work fine however).
- a small number of plug-ins (notably BJ Wavechanger and Flanger, and Nick Whitehurst's
FFT4VST Spectrum Analyser plug-in) cause freezes in Sound Forge when certain functions are
used. The developers have released updated versions of these plug-ins to fix this, if you
experience this problem please visit their sites and get the updates.
- doesn't run stable with the CANTRISOFT plug-ins, due to bugs in the plug-ins themselves.

What's new in version 1.01 (24th March '99)?

* New and improved graphical user interface
* Further small performance enhancements
* Default plug-in directory is now user selectable at installation
* Name of current plug-in now appears in both windows
* [Samplitude 5.x and 2496] Compatibility confirmed - added to Definate list.
(please note: If you know of a company making DirectX plug-in compatible applications which are not on our Definates list - either "probable" only or missing altogether - please do ask them to get in touch with us)
* [Steinberg MultiComp and Quadra Fuzz VST versions] Crashes fixed. No further problems reported.
* [BJ Flanger and BJ Wavechanger] We've found that using the HELP function of these plug-ins causes crashes in certain host applications, notably Sound Forge. The developer of these plug-ins is helping us to resolve this. Note that this bug has been present in all versions, but only very recently came to light.

What's new in version 1.0a (11th March '99)?

* Fixed a performance-hogging bug which affected mainly machines with slow graphics cards.
* Other small performance tweaks, particularly giving a speed boost to older VST plug-ins.
* Improved window management code.
* non-44KHz sample rates are now correctly supported, as long as the VST plug-in supports the rate correctly. Some however assume 44KHz; we can't do anything about that. (all bit depths were already supported; VST plug-ins process internally at 24bit equivalent resolution)
* [Emagic Logic Audio 3.6] "Plug-In Could Not Be Loaded" dialog box no longer appears when it shouldn't.
* [Steinberg MultiComp and Quadra Fuzz VST versions] It has been reported that these two plug-ins may crash VSTadapter and its host application under certain conditions. This problem ONLY affects the VST versions, and only when they are used in the adapter. You can still use the DirectX versions of these plug-ins alongside the adapter. We're working on a fix with Steinberg, but the cause is not currently known.
* [N-Track Studio 1.x] Compatibility confirmed - added to Definate list.
(please note: If you know of a company making DirectX plug-in compatible applications which are not on our Definates list - either missing or "probable" - please do ask them to get in touch with us)
* [Sonic Foundry Sound Forge XP, ACID Music] These "light versions" of SF products have been removed from "probably compatible" list due to new information from Sonic Foundry (they only work with SF's own plug-ins, not third party ones)
